Watching a case in a case system

Watching a case allows you to keep track of its progress. Adding cases to your watchlist lets you track changes in terms of their progress as and when they are modified by their assignees or other collaborators in the case. You can begin watching any case in a case system in which you are an admin or a member, and you can also manually add others in your account as watchers for the case as necessary.

Watching a case

  1. On the case page, open the specific case that you would like to watch or unwatch.
  2. Click the Watchers button on the top panel of your case form.
  3. Click Watch to receive updates about the case. Likewise, click Unwatch to stop following the case if you wish to.

Adding others as watchers to a case

  1. On the case page, open the specific case for which you would like to add watchers.
  2. Click the Watchers button on the top panel of your case form.
  3. Click +Add watchers to add other members in your case/account who you want to add as a watcher and select them from the list. The members are instantly added as watchers as soon as you select them from the list.
A case can only have one assignee, but it can have many number of watchers. Becoming a watcher is a great option for multiple stakeholders to stay up to date on the progress of the case, even if it is not assigned to them.

Removing watchers from a case

Removing someone from the watchers list will stop them from receiving any updates about the case from then.

  1. On the case page, open the specific case from which you would like to remove watchers.
  2. Click the Watchers button on the top panel of your case form.
  3. Under Watchers, hover a specific user's name and click the Remove button to stop the member from watching the case.

Managing a watchlist

On your case page, click the Watchlist button to view the set of cases that you are currently watching across statuses. You can click the button again to go back to the original view.

Do you know a Case Admin can allow or limit the availability of this feature in a case system based on their requirement?
Yes, a Case Admin can always enable or disable the Watchers setting in a specific case system by configuring it from the Optional settings section of a case system.
