Analytics in apps

Analytics within Apps lets App administrators extract insights from multiple forms in your app. The data in each form is represented as tables in Analytics. You can create tabular, chart, or pivot reports by combining different forms in Apps. All the data within analytics will be automatically updated once every hour.

What can you do with Analytics in Apps?

  1. Create dataviews from one or more data sources or other dataviews.
  2. Create reports over dataviews or form tables.

Creating dataviews in apps

A dataview involves combining attributes from one or more forms such as process, board, and dataforms, in your app, and the resulting data is displayed in a tabular format. To create a dataview in apps, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into Kissflow.
  2. Create an app or open an existing app.
  3. Inside the application builder, click Analytics > Dataviews > Create dataview.
  4. Add an SQL query in the query editor and run it.
  5. Click Save to publish a dataview.
  6. Once created, you can use the dataview to generate reports inside Apps.

Creating Analytics reports

You can generate reports for processes, data forms, boards, and dataviews to make it easy to understand trends, patterns, and outliers in your app. Apart from creating the respective reports for individual forms, you can combine different forms and generate reports.

To create a report, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into Kissflow.
  2. Create an app or open an existing app.
  3. Inside the application builder, click the Analytics tab > Reports > Create report.
  4. Select the required data source table, report name, and description.
  5. Choose the type of report:
Tabular:  This report displays information in columns and rows, like a spreadsheet.
Chart: Charts display data graphically in different chart types like area, bar, doughnut, line, pie, and scatter chart.
Pivot: Pivot tables summarize large amounts of data by converting columns into rows and vice versa.
  6. Click Create.

Under the Reports tab, you can search for any reports you created inside Analytics. You can also sort the reports according to the last synced, modified, or alphabetical order.

Note:

You cannot access the data sources created inside the platform analytics in app. In the same way, you cannot access the data sources of one app in another app.
